Graduate Programmes

Does anyone know what is the status of Microsofts Graduate Programme for this year? I have applied for the business stream and I contacted them about the status of my application but I received an automated response that due to the volume of applicants that they would not be in contact with successful candidates until the end of March or early April. I received a similar response from Smurfit Kappa and no luck yet. Is this a type of PFO or is it a waiting game til I hear back?

I am just wondering has anyone been contacted by Microsoft yet or heard anything similar?

I know somebody who was contacted 2 weeks ago for a scheduled phone interview pior to panel interview and group assessment. Keep in mind that they have had over twice as many applicants this year so everything is behind schedule. Competition is fierce, good luck.

Cool thanks for letting me know. It is a waiting game at this stage so fingers crossed. I hope that person you know gets on well in the interview.

Really? I was told that they were doing the final round interviews last week and going to provide us with a feedback this week.

I got a PFO letter last week in the post. Pretty pi55ed off considering I applied on Jan 15th and heard not a thing. What a joke. Have a right mind to send my own PFO back to their HR people.

It's standard for them to take months to get back to you. Most of the big companies I've dealt with on graduate programmes are the same.

I went through the whole process apart from final interview. There were 2 assessment centres held with 24 people on the 13th and 14th of April. 12 people on each day. They said there were only 5 positions available from what I remember and they had 700 applicants. I was happy I made it to the last 24 but gutted not to make it to the final round! Assessment centre was hard but I thought I done well. I've given up applying to jobs for a while. Can't take rejection anymore. Whats the point in getting a degree? I worked hard for a 1:1 and got it. Feel like its useless now. Poxy recession!

im even more annoyed knowing that they held the assessment centre in April and still waited a month before sending the PFO out. Sick of waiting for those "letters" thankfully ive got onto the IBEC EOP programme so wont have to bear the indignity of waiting for responses as they handle the initial short listings.

Nevertheless well done beanok77 for getting that far!
