2nd Hand PS3

Hi, I'm looking to buy a PS3 mainly just to play God of War 3 on so want to get it as cheap as possible. I found this ad on adverts http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=206694&cat=138 , 5 month old 120GB PS3 Slim with 7 months warrantly left for €240.

I've never bought 2nd hand before, so my question is do you think it's a good idea to buy 2nd hand or should I spend more on a brand new one? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

Wa in gamestop today ps3 199 2nd hand plus a game i think (not sure about game inc or not)
My advise if you're willing to pay 240 for one off a fella you dont know you are better off going to a shop

Is it only for today and do you know if it comes with warranty? I'll drop by gamestop if I get the chance tomorrow. Thanks for the info mate

No it's set price for the mean while.I have the Gamestop magazine there
199 40gb pre owned i assume you get a 12 month warranty
299 120 gb slim
359 for god of war and any game

Do you think it's worth it to pay €40 more for that PS3 in the adverts.ie ad I posted because of the larger hard drive (120GB instead of 40GB) and also because it's the new model ? The downside as you already mentioned is that I'll be buying from some fella I don't know. I'm confused right now lol

No, because you can buy a 160 GB HD here: http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/19768/xx/xx/101/9/criteresn.html?s=19768&m=xx&t=xx&categorieid=9&cat=101&startrow=&sortBy=ASC&orderBy=Prix for less than €40.

So you can get a PS3 and a bigger HD for the same price.

Then you have to pay 55 more for god of war which brings you to 295 for 2nd hand console and the game.

If you're paying 295 better off paying 359 for new console with 2 new games of you're choice.Its frighting how dear the ps3 gets.

I'd buy new anyway best to price around.Good luck

@ F1ngers: Those are internal hard drives, does that I mean I have to open up the PS3 and stick it in? Will an external HD work with PS3 so I connect one through a USB slot?

It does, small job though, just have to be careful of the screws. Quite a few boardsies have installed their own HDs, I have a 500GB one myself.

Bought the 120GB Slim from adverts and it's working fine. Thanks for all the info though
