    Hi,

I use my iPod all the time in the gym or out running and the earphones wire is constantly getting on my nerves. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced bluetooth earphones I could get?

    Cheers

    How about these?

Other types available on this site too. Use them all the time.

Had a look at these, they seem like some generic make so couldnt find any info on them to determine if they would be good for the gym. Ideally I was looking for earbud ones that dont cost agbout €150 like the ones I saw already (jaybird, sennheiser) I was assuming there'd be cheaper ones around now that would do the job for what I need as opposed to high-end ones....maybe not though!

Couldn't find any under €80 myself. Would be handy to have a pair of wrap around wireless ear buds. The only ones out there seem to be the foamy types that don't bode to well in the gym.

Just found these for about €55 - http://cgi.ebay.com/Altec-Lansing-BackBeat-906-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headset_W0QQitemZ390179065946QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5ad87c105a EDIT: just noticed, the shipping is $30 on top of that.

Seem to do the job, I'll see how they work out with shipping etc. The foam ones wouldnt last long in the gym and would annoy you if your out running. At the other extreme, there are some Terminator-esque looking contraptions to hang off your ears that seem to be more for phones than for an iPod.

Good man! I reckon those would do the job for what I want. Can't really go wrong at that price. Alternatively, saw these linked on that same page: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Bluetooth-Headphones/Nokia/Nokia-Bluetooth-Headphones-BH-103

Going to read up on them a bit and decide which to buy.

Ordered your suggestion and one of these as well: http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170429124871&_trksid=p2759.l1259

I'll post back what they are like when I get them in case anyone else is looking for a similar set up for the gym etc.

I have these, although I bought them from Argos and they don't seem to have them anymore:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DRBT21GB-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B000QIMQAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270649375&sr=8-1

They work quite well, although I've noticed over the last couple of days that they occasionally cut out when I'm using the dongle. From reading one of the Amazon reviews, the person says that it happens when they turn their head too far! In fairness, it did only cut out when I was turning my head to check for traffic, but I thought the movement of my jacket was causing the dongle to dislodge or something.

If you have a 3GS with the latest software on it, it has built in bluetooth so you don't even need the dongle. When I originally tried it, I found the music cut in and out an awful lot more when I didn't have the dongle attached. Since then I've used the dongle, although I might switch back and see if it was as bad as I remember.

I'm sure those are good enough, they'd want to be at the price. I wanted to avoid the 'over ear' type ones though as I dont think they would be suitable for training. If mine all work out ok at under 40 euro I'll be happy enough with that.

    Hi

Would you need a adapter with these ?

I like those wrap around type headphones, like the ones I have. I can't wear those stupid wee earphones like the ones that come with the iPhone/iPod - they fall out of my ears if I even blink.

I like the ones that sort of wrap around and sit on your ears as they stay in place.

Not sure which one's you are referring to, but mine came with an adapter that you plug into the mains to charge up the headphones. They also came with the dongle that you plug into the iPod/iPhone, but as previously stated, the most recent iPhones have built in bluetooth if you have more recent software on the iPhone. I think it's the same with the iPod touch, not sure though.

The bluetooth should be available with that model and version of the software. I don't know what ibluenova is though. The headphones I bought are bluetooth and you just need to pair them with the iPhone, no other software is required.

they fall out of my ears if I even blink.

Had the very same problem until I started using those little foam covers. This kind of thing...

Just to give a bit of an update on what I bought....

I went for the Bluetrek bluetooth earphones and the bluenext ipod Bluetooth adapter. So far I have used these running, in the gym, with my laptop and with my PC at home. For the gym and running they have been fantastic. They do exactly hat I needed and cost nowhere near all of the other bluetooth earphones I could find. €40 got me up and running - a bargain when most others cost €75+. When using them with the PC I have to link them to a USB bluetooth dongle I bought seperately (as my PC doesnt have bluetooth). They can be a bit awkward at times to get connected to this but that could be the USB Bluetooth as they never have any trouble connecting with the ipod. This is only a minor thing though.

Overall, I'd recommend these to anyone and you cant really go wrong at that price.

PS: The earphones are on a kind of rubber/plastic band that fits b ehind your neck, they aren't on wires. This hasnt got in the way for me when benching or anything like that so wouldn't really worry about it.

I'm thinking of investing in a new set as my existing ones are beginning to cut out a lot, especially now when I'm listening to music and have that iMapMyWalk software running. Not sure if something is conflicting there.
