Might help if you told people where you are.

last I saw they are using 10, but 16 might be an option.

Don't tell me you are near Knocksedan!!

Just probably because of the wind and weather direction

A bit windy! What is the limit crosswind for the A320? I think it is 39 knots?

From liveatc, runway 16 seems to be in use at the moment. Not a fun day for flying!

Yes, and probably so because it has the highest incidence of aborted landings. When they're using 16 it means winds are too strong for either 28 or 10...and with stronger winds comes stronger turbulence...;) I remember listening to tower on radio one night during a storm when almost every plane had to go around, and many ended up diverting to Shannon and Belfast.

I looked in to this crosswind figure limit. For the A320.
Take off is 29 knots gusting 38 knots.
Landing is 33 knots gusting 37 knots.
There does seem to be a problem interpreting these figures. Are they for guidance or hard and fast rules. Most pilots believe they are for guidance only and down to the operator for actual figures.

The wind at about 5 p.m. today was from 200-210 degrees and gusting to about 42 knots, so it was about 45 degrees to the runway rather than directly across it.

I gave up on the Dublin feed, one of which seemed to be missing the comms from the Tower while on the other the tower comms are extremely screechy! Cork seems to bearing the brunt at the moment. Cork Tower at 21:00hrs gave the EI LGW flight recent gusts of 40kts.

I drove from Donabate today and saw they were using 16. I drove around the back of the airport and stood close to the threshold with my 3 year old son. He's a plane nut. Always scanning the sky for planes.

He was in his element watching the succession of planes land and take off. We even saw a Cityjet go around. Very enjoyable 20 minutes.

I'd still be there if it was up to my son!
