    Hey,

Thanks for the link, I suffer from shin splints lately, got some proper runners and took time off to recover, starting back running now, taping up my legs as well.

Do you know if these can help with shin splints??

    Cheers ;o)

Ps: Anything I've gotten from Lidl/Aldi (Tools / Sports wear) has generally been very good, they are German after all!

Ah...compression socks...I thought people who wore these long socks just wanted to keep warm :D

Would these help ease compartment syndrome at all? I know they probably wouldn't prevent the pain but would it ease it at all?

I've bought various items for running and mountain biking and indeed skiing from aldi in the past and would sum it up by saying their product's performances are about 80% of top brands but at about 20% of the price.
It's a judgement call and for €5 can you really go wrong?

Went to Aldi at 9am this morning for some socks. Only a very limited stock of running gear, about 4-5 items of each piece of gear on sale. Got my socks so I'm happy.

I bought two pairs of compression socks this morning and I must say, I'm not convinced. I'm wearing them at the moment and they're pretty much like normal, long socks, there's hardly any compression going on at all, if any! Just bear that in mind before you purchase.

Oh I bought a pair this morning. Think I should bring them back rather than opening?

I must have a look at the running tops and the runners?

I have really expensive runners for the gym but when it comes to running outside, I use old ones.

Thought I'd get these cheapies. ;)

All I'll say is, if I knew they were like this, I wouldn't have bought them...:(

I bought one of the running tops, and was going to get a vest too, but they only cam e in L and XL but they both looks a bit baggy.

Got a top, socks, compression socks too. Didnt go overboard, cos I got the stuff from Lidl last week. I dont think they had a great range of running gear though, not a big selection of sizes and colours on the Long Mile Road shop.

Is it waterproof? I was thinking of doing an Iron Man next week for the crack, but I'd want to bring something along to keep from getting bored.

17hrs of battery life could be a issue, but you could hook a dynamo to your bike and that should give it a recharge for the jogging bit at the end.

I couldn't believe it this morning. Went up to the local Aldi at 08:30 to buy a pair of the €2.99 running headphones (my previous €30 Philips pair are only working in one ear so I've decided to try cheap this time) and there was a queue of about 50 people there already and the place didn't open until 09:00! By that time there was about 100 people in the queue. I was wondering were they all Boardsies

It turned out that most of the punters were looking for a portable DVD player, but there was a big mill around the running socks too. Luckily there wasn't much interest in the headphone basket :D.

Didnt get any socks myself none in my size, but managed to get a small pair and then swap them for shorts.. :)

Compression socks dont seem to bad at all.

In Fairness, I've never tried compression socks before. Felt a bit strange putting them on tonight (probably what suspender stockings feel like... ahem :o) but I'm looking forward to giving them a trial run after Conn to see how I get on with them. Maybe because more of my hairy legs are covered, I'll be more aerodynamic and will take 25% off all my PBs in 2010.

I've had a pair of the 1000 miles ones, i've say theyigev little more compression but not much. Cost about 4-5 times more so will see how these ones last.
