    Hi, first post here,

Was seriously thinking about taking on the task of a half-marathon for the next view months. Living in cork area so just gathering a bit of info. at the moment on options but i saw that the Cork Half Marathon is on in September held in Blarney around the time i hope to run one. I am planning on doing bulk of training during summer with race in Aug/Sept. Was just wondering if anyone knows if you must be a member of a club to run in it, age restrictions and where to register etc.??

Am still in school and have no real running experience apart from a good bit during the summers but no races. Would be confident of being able to do 3 or 4 miles confortably enough tommorrow so was just mainly looking for general advice and on the best training schedules. Have seen a few over the internet but just wanted to see what others might come up with!

you have to be 18 years of age or over on 7th June 2010 for the full.
I presume the half is the same

You dont have to be a member of any club

Sorry for the hijack - but what is the course like? Is it flat enough or hilly?

No worries. Have done a bit of research on it and from what i have heard its flat for around 3 miles. Gradually uphill until 6.5 and then back down until 9/10. You finish back on the same route that you take out.
So nearly half uphill/half downhill. Route here.

Still cannot find where you can get official info on this years race though.:(

For the main full cork city marathon its pretty flat! course available on their website.
