Starting this 1 early. Impact looks really solid this week:

From MF in the TNA thread:
    - Already announced for the huge broadcast is Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson in a Ladder Match with the key to the Lockdown cage door hanging in the balance! Who will get their advantage going into their battle at Lockdown? Don't miss Angle vs. Anderson on Monday night!

    ladder.jpg

    - After what happened this past week, there will be a rematch on Monday's "iMPACT!" between "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero and Desmond Wolfe! Can Wolfe pull off another shocking win over the #1 Contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship - or will The Pope get his revenge?

    preview4.jpg

    - A huge 8 Knockouts Tag Team Match has been signed with Knockouts Champion Tara teaming with Angelina Love, ODB and Hamada to battle The Beautiful People and Daffney

    - Plus, rumors are that Doug Williams plans to host an X Division Gauntlet! What does the X Division Champion have in store for his rivals?

    - Also, tune in for more big news on the upcoming Lockdown Pay-Per-View event! Will more names be announced for the Lethal Lockdown when Team Hogan faces Team Flair? Tune in Monday night!

Don't forget, it's a 1am start time tomorrow night. iMPACT! is going an hour (8e-10e) early to "test the waters" on the ratings

EDIT: Saved the mods the time to change the title name

I wonder how that will effect the ratings, surely they'll get over 1.0 mark, especially now not going against WWE in Mania mode.

I don't know, that 2nd hour could kill the rating when Raw starts

TNA have to be really smart with the match placings tomorrow night. I can easily see them at least getting a 1.0 if done correctly

Think the ladder match is purely desperation booking imho

Bigger matches = bigger ratings is TNA's mentality atm

After the ratings last week, I'm surprised they haven't made a buried alive match (I know it's WWE's match but if TNA did it, Bubba would have to lose though). The cage match failed miserably last week but it was against HBK's speech.

TNA have actually advertised the matches this week for iMPACT!, which is good

Honestly think TNA just need to realise fans just want matches with decent length and throwing out random stip matches mean nothing if it lasts under 2 minutes

I'd expect a 1.0 to 1.3 rating for first hour and then a steady drop from there escalating after 75 min in (i.e. the start up of Raw is not that exciting usually)

Just announced: #1 Contenders to the TNA World Tag Team Championship, The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Team 3D in a rematch from this past week's exclusive webmatch and Xplosion! The bout ended in a controversial double-pin, so the rematch will take place tonight live on "iMPACT!" - if you missed the first bout,

    +1
Thats 3 pretty good matches, should be a good iMPACT tonight..

Lets hope those 3 matches get enough time and hopefully MCMG beat 3d since they have never been pushed enough and we have already seen 3d as tag champs etc

According to prowrestling.net, Tommy Dreamer's non-compete with WWE has expired. He was released by the company in early January, which makes him eligible to appear as soon as tonight's TNA Impact.

Jeff Hardy posted a message on his Twitter page that will fuel the speculation.

"I'm a Dreamer and I know I'm not the only one.

I wanna see more interaction between Pope and AJ since there match for the title is the main event at Lockdown yet Pope is feuding with Wolfe

the key to the Lockdown cage door hanging in the balance!

Excuse my ignorance but what's the advantage of having the key to the lockdown cage?

To have the ability to get out the cage door??

Thanks. I'm a bit slow when it comes to these things. Don't want to sound completely negative on TNA but someone unlocking a padlock doesn't strike me as particularly exciting way to end a match. I know it probably won't be like that though so I'll give it a chance.

I don't know. It's something different. I mean, if you win the key to the Lockdown cage, you're the only one who can open it and, I assume, walk out, while the other's have to go over-the-top of the cage.

It gives whoever gets the key an advantage as you win the cage match by escaping the cage. They did something similar with Christian and Rhino on the November 16th 2006 two hour iMPACT! special.

I suppose fumbling with a key to open the door would leave you open to a beating.....but a door exit would be faster than going over the top. That said it takes about as long as getting a ref to open the door in the first place :o

iMPACT so far so good really enjoyed Van Dam and Storm

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭mr.mayo

I just can't stop laughing during Flair's promos, the sweat starts dripping off him as soon as he opens his mouth and by the time he's finished, he looks like he's after being thrown into a pool! The whole wheelchair thing might be a bit daft but I have to give it to him, he still cuts a damn good promo!

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,577 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

    That OJ thing was stupid

Good idea to have Angle/Anderson going on just before Raw starts

Smart move but hopefully they give the match some actual decent time

Ugh the band ruined the tag match. LAME

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

Worst iMPACT! since the move to Mondays by a long, long way. The opening segment and the ladder match were good but pretty much the entire of the rest of the show featured short matches, crappy segments, a ludicrous title change, an unjustifiable chair shot, the same old crap and the entire roster feuding with a guy that doesn't even wrestle. I've enjoyed all TNA's Monday shows so far but this one was terrible.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭waltersobchak

The Wolfpac breaking up the Tag Match was ridiculous.. And why the f*ck is that obnoxious swine Bubba still doing there.. Was an all around wierd show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭Dean820

I read the report of the show and they ended it with the Knockouts? They know they get the highest ratings so thats why I guess. They are looking desperate though.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,577 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Yea the opening segment was great and good to see Beer Money getting a proper push again. Most matches were typical TNA just rushed and then the Band getting involved in the Tag Match ruined it and i wish they would get rid of Bubba surely since Hogan is his boss he can fire him he wanted.

That chair shot last night was ridiculous. In 2010 knowing all that we know about unprotected chair shots to the head TNA does that. Anderson winning the filling station bathroom key was fine but not exactly two chaps that are well suited to ladder matches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

flair is still awesome on the mic and i just dont know what to say about the orlando jordan segment just wired really wired

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,019 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Wolfpac are a bunch of disrespectful pricks :D you gotta love Bubba Ray

I really hope the Band dont get the tag titles MCMG really need a tag title run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,116 ✭✭✭starviewadams

Jesus, just attempted to watch Impact for the first time in a few weeks, what a total joke, esp Flair in a wheelchair ranting and raving nonsensically, while Hogan,Jarrett and Sting look on,its like its 1999 again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,019 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

Orlando Jordan aka Ladyboy GaGa :D

Orlando Jordan "creaming" himself at 9.00 minutes

I speak for everyone on this when I say, WTF was that???

It was so ridiculously out-of-place and just weird.

That chair-shot was hard to watch. There really should be an overalll rule in Wrestling (EVERY promotion) that unprotected chair shot's should be banned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,019 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

The blood in TNA on screen is looking like pink nail polish :pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭waltersobchak

I would n't say auld Rob Terry has a particularly large brain to begin with, so the chairshots mightn't be the smartest move:pac::pac: But TNA are heading down the road of WCW and by that i mean look how many people have died who wrestled in WCW, obviously WWE get blamed but at least their rectifiying things post Guerrero and Benoit whilst TNA dont give a f*ck

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

+1 on the chairshot. Jesus Christ, after everything thas hapened the last few years, its just so wrong.

I have to say after everything I've read about the OJ thing it wasn't quite as bad as I'd thought it was gonna be. Still f*cking wierd mind you.
