"Another Ugly Storm for the West
brian Fortier, Lead Meteorologist, The Weather Channel
    Apr. 4, 2010 12:27 pm ET

Another winter storm will spread rain and mountain snow into the West beginning this afternoon. Showers will spread into the San Fransico area first and spread east. Overnight heavy snow will develop over the mountains and by the time all is said and done could pile up well over a foot above 2000 foot elevations. Accumulating snow is expected as far south as the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties where four to eight inches will fall above 4000 to 5000 foot elevations. The snow will be blown around by winds gusting as high as 65 mph.
The heaviest of the precipitation is expected to occur late tonight and into the early daytime hours of Monday before the storm moves east bringing snow and wind to the Rockies.
Elsewhere, a isolated thunderstorms are developing in Missouri and Illinois . Otherwise the middle of the country should be relatively quiet through the late afternoon hours. Some strong storms are possible after dark in the Central Plains, Ozarks, and Mid-Mississippi Valley. This will be the beginning of a stormy period for the Central U.S. this week, with several rounds of storms possible through the middle of the week.
Thunderstorms should begin to increase in coverage and intensity later tonight with the help of an upper level disturbance moving out of the West. Some severe storms are possible tonight, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threats. The chance of storms will move quickly eastward through the Ohio Valley and into the interior Northeast on Monday, but fizzle out as they make their way to the east.
This second system will be slow to move eastward, with stormy weather expected to continue from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains including much of the Mississippi Valley into Wednesday before moving into the eastern third of the county late week"

Large hail core in the middle of the storm and the chasers are skirting the edge of the storm, dont want to be getting a broken windsheild

Hail up-to 4" thick now that would hurt getting hit by one of those across the back of the head.
