Did an accum on boyles off 10 it will pay 94, on powers it pays 109. First time ever comparing but do boyles have worse football prices or is it just with this bet?

Check out what each company pays on the opposite results.

    This is right.

In general Boyles take a lot less margin on sports markets that Powers.

There was a senior management decision in Powers maybe 8 months ago that they were to take more margin across nearly all markets due to a run of bad football results.

Take note of crap opposite prices in 2-way markets that don't exist anywhere else like:

    3/4 & 10/11

    4/11 & 15/8

If you think that's bad, not sure if Boyles still do them but they used to do which Trap number would win a dog race, either odd or even Trap number:
Prices were different depending on the price of the dogs but I remember seeing one side at 4/6 and the other at 10/11
    Now that's margin.

One of the best places to check odds is www.oddschecker.com, they will give you all bookie prices for football matches ir just take the football coupons from each/all and check them yourself.
Always always check the odds before putting on a bet, it's better off in your pocket then in someone elses.

Does anybody else think that prices are getting more and more daft like 3/4, 21/20 etc

I actually think it would be a lot better if everything was done in decimals. It would result in bookies being more competitive with prices. They are loath to put up strange looking fractions as it is off putting to a casual punter but decimals are easy for everyone to undertand.

    I don't understand decimals, only fractions :P

That's the problem actually. The majority of punters (especially shop punters) would run a mile from decimal prices. They want 4/7 over 1.6 without knowing which is bigger.

I don't have a clue about decimals, tbh. Fractions seem so much handier.

Decimals are easier to understand if you ask me.

Not handier, just what you're used to. Probably take a week to get used to using decimals. It would be good for the industry if everybody switched to decimals in my opinion.

    Agree with this.

    Really easy to work out.

If Man United are 1.5 to beat Bolton is means that you get €1.50 back if you place a €1 bet.

    Similarly 3.5 equals €3.50 back from a €1 bet

    Or 10.0 equals €10.00 back from a €1 bet.

    Easy!
