anyone see the latest epsiode of bones, omigod, i know bones has been doing in show ads for a while but just the lamest excuse for one in this ep,

they just go out of a drive and the lab assistant asks why do you drive a minivan, and she replies i drive my CARMAKE cos im artist and i need plenty of room to carry stuff and then the reverse camera is a god send.

they weren't even driving anywhere, queing for avator was believable for those characters this was just an ad!

Stuck out like a sore thumb didn't it? Very forced. There are worse examples, such as the 90210 Dr. Pepper one (you can Google it)
'Eureka' had an episode where the show's sponsor product was actually used to save the day...

Plus that was made a bit funnier due to the fact that one of the actors had a reasonably decent-sized role in 'Avatar'.

Yeah but 'Chuck' generally slots it in quite nicely to the plot and it doesn't seem intrusive. For example they had a competition to eat a large Subway roll (and it was mentioned how nice they were) but these are exactly the sort of people who would have such a competition.

If you can manage to sit through an episode of American Idol, on American TV - it's way worse.
HUGE plastic 4 red beakers with Coke name glaring out at you, sitting on the desk in front of the judges - sticking out like a sore thumb. Logos ALWAYS turned to the cameras.
Then they interrupt the acts by quick "chats" on the sofa, which by the way is also the same mad red colour and coke logo plastered all over it - and while they are talking too in case you missed the subtlety of the advertising, in the background on massive screens while they are talking, up pops the massive ads for coke too!
Then we have the too MANY, MANY actual advert breaks (one for each song nearly) - and guess what - more adverts for coke!

As bad as the show is, the blatant in your face crap plugging makes it even worse.

From a Google search it's "Bad to the Drone". I think the producers apologised for it but said it let them lots of other neat stuff later on in the year.

Couple of years ago, Smallville brought back Pete Ross to market a sponsored brand of chewing gum. Same show always had its young cast driving around in brand new cars, their make clearly shown, despite the fact there's no way they could have afforded them.

chuck does it in a way that works with the plot line, such a jeffster having a subway peace offering with casey which shows us his journey to becoming a real civillian!!!
