    Hi,

I am getting married this September and we are having a small wedding. I don't want to spend a fortune on the dress so I was wondering if somebody knew of any shops in the Dublin area or further that would have wedding dresses around 800 to 1000 euro?

    Thanks very much

    Hi A.Newton,

I got married last September and bought my dress around this time last year. There are lots of dresses under €1000. I found mine in The Bridal Outlet in Baldoyle and it was €1050 I think and it was fab. I would have a look there. It's a bit like a warehouse to be honest but it's fine. I looked in Moreland which was just up the road and the same dress was €1350!!!

You could also try Debenhams they have some nice simple dresses and there's also the Oxfam bridal shop which has ex-sample dresses.

I just bought the dress from my first trip but I would say that a lot of wedding shops have dresses in your budget.

    Try this site - http://www.sellmyweddingdress.net/
They may have exactly what you are looking for and at the right price.

Debenhams would have dresses even way cheaper than that. €2/300 and beautiful. I'd check them out first if I were you.....

Like someone else said try the oxfam shop - I didn't go there myself but I got mine in the Barnardos bridal shop in Carlow. All the dresses are new, perhaps last season's unsold stock donated by retailers, they are in perfect condition. Mine was only 425 and it's fab imho :p I think that Barnardos have a bridal shop in Dun Laoghaire too but I didn't make it to that one!

300 to 500 sounds much better :). Anywhere else with that range price? I am not looking for something really fancy, just a nice wedding dress.

Check out Monsoon, they've got some nice dresses that don't cost the earth. You could even try them on in the shops down here and then order from the website. Since the sizes are just standard and it'll be the exact same dress, there's not the risk that you'll buy something online and then hate it when it arrives. You could also check out Debenhams, they've got lovely dresses and they're really good for prices.

I live in England so can only go on what I've experienced here. All the shops I've been to have a sale rack with dresses for as little as £100. Even the non sale dresses in these shops seem to average between 400-700. Even the posher places have these sale racks so you can get a really good dress for very little but with a really nice experience.

You could drive up North or get a cheap flight to England and look at BHS.

Am sure you can see them online....

Let us know how you get on! Would love to hear the price you eventually get!

try and find a shop that stocks mori lee - mine is one and it was only 700. They have more expensive ones too but not everything has to be over 1000.

+1 on monsoon also. My friend got her dress there and it was very pretty and simple also.

Hickeys bridal shop on Henry Street is pretty reasonable, plenty for under 1000.

My dress was €700. I bought it in Cork but I think the main thing is the label, some labels are cheaper than others, have a look online at dresses withinyour budget and then find out what shops stock the dresses you like.

My dress is Victoria Jane label for Roland Joyce. I tried on lots of dresses in about 5 shops and the prices ranged from about €600 to €1500 , although some were more.

I got my dress yesterday!! :D I went to The Bridal Outlet in Baldoyle. I was a bit worried about the whole thing but they were lovely to me. I tried at least ten dresses for two hours. They were not pushy or didn't try to sell the most expensive ones. They were really open about which ones suited me. I highly recomend this place. Good price and good service. Thanks everybody for all your help. Im so happy!! :)
