Hi, yes, as long as you haven't missed any pills, haven't taken antiobiotics etc, and have used it as prescribed you are safe all the time whether actually taking it or on your break. Or as safe as the pill has been proven to be anyway! Don't be afraid to ask your doctor or nurse any questions next time you're in, maybe the process hasn't been explained fully to you.
