Just thought this might be a good place to post any events that ladies of the board might know of to celebrate Sex and the City 2 next month.

    Dublin: http://www.didgebo.com/

Anyone know of any in Cork or Galway by any chance?

Has also found this site, they seem to be brand new, and this is the only event listed, so i suspect it is only set up for this event. Any sign of any of the cinemas doing something similar, I know Dundrum did this last time?

    Note to self:

Avoid listed cinemas on listed dates.

I find it strange that SATC went from a show that was lauded for breaking down conventional sexual relationships, discussion and embracing sexual independence into what's basically "shoe p*rn" at this stage. Even the press release made me cringe with the line "strap on your Manolo’s, grab your Chanel bag and get ready to immerse yourself once again in the wonderful world that is Sex and the city" - as if it now operates in a completely fictional universe, which considering the middle-class careers of the characters and conversely their millionaire-lifestyle wardrobes, I suppose it does

Ladies, to each their own but it troubles me that all the filmmakers have to do is just point a camera at the girls laughing as they hold champagne glasses and they've already made $200m - the trailer don't even try to explain a plot (new setting!) - is that all they have to do and you'll be entertained?

I guess shoes and handbags are to women what guns and explosions are to men..

I don't think that anyone who loved, for example, the last Rambo film, has any right to get high and mighty about Sex and the City films. One is as bad/entertaining as the other.

Edit: Galvasean just managed to say the same thing, but wittier.

FYI, Vue in Liffey Valley (Dublin) did a preview of the film a few weeks before the first one came out. IIRC, it had one fella in the entire audience. And over 300 women.

I'd say they'll do something similair this time around. Ring them and ask them.
