"particle filter regeneration urgent" does'nt mean your dpf is blocked...:)
It means theres something stopping the dpf from regenerating.

If you pm me your email add i'll send you on some info form servicebox.
If your anywhere Galway i can check out how clean your filter is with
a diagnostic check...have you checked for any p-codes (engine faults)
sometimes blown heater plugs will prevent the dpf from regenerating...

If you know someone with a hand held code reader plug it in to the diagnostic
socket (between front seats)and search for engine faults logged.....:)

"particle filter regeneration urgent" is a warning message for the dpf and sometimes its difficult to clear.....but it can be cleared with the correct diagnostic tool..:)

Dikiedavis, did you buy the diagnostic tool as recommended by Row? I am having similar problems with my Peugoet 407 and would consider buying one of these. Do they have the ability to reset errors or is only used to obtain the codes?

The warning light on the dash of my 1.6 HDi (190km's) reads "Depollution Sensor Faulty" and sometimes I loose acceleration when it appears i.e. the car goes into safety mode. I have had sensors replaced, the ECU replaced, and various mechanics have reset the various error codes at different times. I have left it on for the last month or so as it isn't affecting driving at present.

Just to confirm this code reader will read/clear fault codes and basic live data only...but it will not read any other ecus e.g. abs/airbag/bsi/additive ecu so its pretty basic,
Alot has happened over 3 years when it comes to code readers/diagnostic equipment capabilities..:)

    Thanks Row.

I just purchased a fairly cheap diagnostic tool:

    http://www.adverts.ie/cables/fix-your-car-yourself-auto-scanner-diagnostic-tool/2507930?utm_source=email&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=BuyNowAdBought

All I need it to do at present is reset the faults as I am continually going to my garage with the same complaint. He has changed a couple of sensors but it continues to come back. I spoke to Peugoet and they say there must be an underlying fault but feel it would be difficult (and expensive) to locate.

Hopefully this tool does the business for the short term - until I can afford to offload!

Never used the elm 327 but if it has live data then it should do the job for you..:)
Post up the p-code(s) in a new topic/thread and we'll see if we can help out..;)
