A friend of mine has told me that he knows a few people who have recieved new set top cards and chorus are telling them to put them in the box, and also that they are doing something to the signal....

Now iv heard nothing of the sort so does anyone know if this is true and if so why and how will it effect me?

There Upgrading to N3, which is a secure encryption, wont affect your official boxes, when you receive the card swap it in your box overnight. Thats about it. Call chorus to confirm.

To go into detail these new cards decrypt Nagravision 3 an unbroken secure encryption system.

People will illegal boxes will get nothing if you have a legal box you just follow the instructions that come with the new card and forget about it.

So those who have been availing of illegal services over the past number of years on all type of cable boxes will be left with nothing,

    Is this correct?

Most of them already have nothing is only a few areas left now and this is almost finished.

Is this just cable areas or are MMDS areas getting new cards as well cause I haven't seen anything in the post and I really don't want to have to spend a few days on hold to them

I was in a friends house yesterday out the old Cork Road, he is on MMDS and his card was replaced with one of the new UPC ones. I thought it was only cable that were changed over to n3 but it seems they are changing over MMDS also. It was only the card that was changed, still using the old box. I'm wondering are both n1 & n3 being streamed at the same time until all cards are swapped and then switch off n1. Please if anyone knows anymore on this i'd like to hear back.

Cheers Jock, I guess I better get on the phone to them to see what's the story with the card, better to do it now rather that wait for it to stop working, I just dread having to pick up the phone to them
