Lifestyle Sports are running a trainer scrappage scheme. It looks like if you bring in a pair of 'old trainers' you'll get 25% off a new pair of Adidas supernova of response runners.
In aid of chernobyl project. Don't know anything about the supernova or response runners but a good way to 'recycle' those runners from the shed.

Has anyone used this offer in lifestyle yet?
Was curious as to what prices the shoes were going for before you take the 25% off?

I had a look at the ts and cs and couldn't find any conclusive point preventing this. It'd be interesting to find out...

I've thought about it but aren't both those shoes for neutral runners ? I got caught out over Christmas when I spotted a pair of Nimbus in my size for next to nothing before realising after 2 runs they weren't right, checked on the web and they were for neutral to under pronator, I'm an over pronator.

Can't say for sure about response, think they are only neutral.
The supernova comes in two models, sequence (over pronation) and glide (neutral).

Cheers Rovers, my google brings back the reviews from Runners World and the technical details say they're neutral but that's the 2008 model, never realised they came in 2 versions, I must go google the sequence.

edit. The Supernova Sequence 3 seems to be getting good reviews, only problem is now trying to find a pair of old runners I want to get rid of. Do I get rid of my old reliable Asics I use for running around the muck and grass, or the spotless nimbus that I probably will never wear for sports purposes again.

But then again can I justify buying yet more runners :)

There are 2 versions of the Response- neutral and support. You'll know the support as it has the gray area on the inside of the sole.
From feedback the Response is a very soft feeling shoe.

Picked up a pair of Response in Carrickmines last weekend - good deal and a way to get rid of old runners, I'm going to bring back more runners without buying anything.

Went in yesterday to pick up a pair, old runners in hand. Bad mistake going in on a Sunday when only the weekend workers were in as none could differentiate the different models for me with regards to support etc. So I said to myself I'll come back during the week and went for a walk around the centre. On the way home I had a hot chocolate in Starbucks and while looking at all the people getting pissed on I saw Elverys and remembered they had the 26 odd % sale on.

Popped in and got talking to a nice knowledgeable chap who recommended a range of shoes in comparison with the Kayano 15s and went with a pair of Nike Triax+ 13s for €74. While browsing the shelfs I also saw the 2 Adidas shoes that Lifestyle were promoting, both of which were cheaper in Elverys than in Lifestyle taking both discounts into account.
