Did the text message send or not?!

    Hi all,

    Quick question for ye...

Sent a message from my phone yesterday but as it was sending, my battery went. Now I don't want to send the message again (was to a guy who I met out last weekend) as I don't want to come across as a bunny boiler who doesn't get a hint/keeps texting a guy even though he doesn't reply kinda thing!

Now thing is, I'v sent messages to my sister phone and turned my phone off while doing so to see did she get them (hmmm, really not helping my claims of not being a bunny boiler here eh?! Hehe!) and she does get them/I get delivery reports/they're in my sent items....the latter two things didn't happen with that guys message! So do you think the message sent or not?

Why dont you check your online account (if you have bill pay) or else call the network provider and get them to check for you.

Yeah exactly, if your network can see the message was delivered then it was, if you know the time it was sent they can tell you, many a time I had to look for texts people sent while drunk/upset and see if they sent :D

Thanks so much for yer replies!
Not a bill pay customer so looks like I'll be ringing network provider...would never have thought of that/didn't know they could tell you that sort of thing! Right off I go..

Same with O2's Prepaid, you can see all your calls and texts online.

if it is in your sent items then it send. if it is in there, you can "check details" or whatever, if you hit options when lookin at the message. it should say if it delivered.

You do if you have registered. You can call vodafone customer service and they will tell you.

Right, rang them there. Nope, message wasn't sent.

Enquired do we have the facility of checking calls/messages online and they said no. But one can get it sent out to them for €6 something, not sure if that's per bill/month, or one standard payment. I don't need it anyway now I know I can just ring them up.

Thanks all for ye're replies, much appreciated!

Just send the message again saying "My phone died right before my first text sent, I didn't know if you got it or not so sorry for the resend if you did !".

It couldn't be any easier !

She doesn't want to do this...

OP you're left with a choice:

If you want to get in contact with this guy then obviously you're going to have to text him again.

Best case scenario he didn't get the first one, but likes that you thought to resend it (aka he's interested)

Middle case scenario, he got the first one and is still happy you thought to re-send it (also still interested)

Worst case scenario, he got the first one and didn't reply and isn't overly chuffed you re-sent the second one (aka not that into it)

But the beauty of all three outcomes is that at least you'll be able to put it out of your mind and get on with things without wondering if you've missed out on something!! :)

Tbh if he thinks you're a bunny boiler for 2 texts then you're prolly better to steer clear anyways ;)

I don't think this is bunny boilerish at all because there's an explanation for why the text is being sent again. You start verging on that territory if you send any further texts without a response. :)

Re send the messatage. And if he did receive the first one, explain your battery went dead and you weren't sure if, in fact, he received it. So that is why you're re-sending. Simple really.

I think the best thing you could have done was charge phone and send it again fairly quickly... Like before he'd have had a chance to reply anyway.

If he didn't get the first one, grand he'll get this one and will reply if he is interested.

If did get the first one, he obviously didn't reply so not interested.
If you resend it again, he is not interested (as above) and he still won't reply. Two texts sent, not ideal but no big deal, you still have your dignity....

Either way, send it again. If you get a reply he is interested.
If he does not reply: do Not text again and walk away from this one.
