Have always had porridge for breakfast but recently it has started to make me feel unwell, also, unfortunately, muesli is out for me as it doesn't agree with me either.

Can anyone suggest a substantial, healthy alternative to porridge and muesli?

    Thanks

If you insist on eating your breakfast out of a cereal bowl, you can make a sort of flax porridge, by pouring very hot water over flaxmeal and then letting it sit and thicken for a while. Personally, I don't think it's worth the bother, especially as you usually have to reheat it, but it's up to you.

Try gluten-free porridge and see if it makes any difference to you. Kelkin have a version of it in most supermarkets.

Also try soaking it overnight with a spoonful of natural yoghurt; the bacteria will start to work on the anti-nutrients and some of the fibre that can make you feel a bit nasty after eating it.
