Just had an Interview - Quick Question though

I had an interview yesterday and since then I guess I have being doing the whole post mortem thing.

Anyway I noticed that one guy was asking the questions and the other guy was putting down numbers next to the questions when I was finished answering. They were not actually writing down anything I said other than the numbers.

Im assuming this was a scoring system and could see that the numbers, for me at least, varied between 1 and 5.

Is there a system interviewers use that utilise numbers?

    Or your thoughts?

Indeed, I've completed many interviews for our large multinational and we scored folks on the competencies we were looking for... We did however need to add comments for low or high scores, this was often done after the candidate left..

There were a lot of questions coming from the Director for the first 40 minutes and then he said

"lets move on to these damn questions" and we spent 15-20 minutes going through these.

Whilst doing this the Sales Manager was completely mute and simply wrote down numbers each time.

I did get offered this job but it was not matthew Algie. It was a different company based in northern Ireland but covering munster. They started dragging their heels so I told them I was no longer interested.

You didn't get passed the first interview, any feedback from them? They sound like a great company.
