Hi y'all... DJ'ing for a little girl's 11th birthday party on (Easter) Sunday and looking for suggestions for the playlist... I'm thinking the likes of the following:

    Ke$ha
    Beyonce
    Lady Gaga
    Katy Perry
    Black Eyed Peas
    Rihanna
    Jason Darulo
    Jedward/Vanilla Ice
    Glee cast
    JLS
    Cheryl Cole
    Sidney Samson (Radio edit!)

    Any suggestions?

Anything in the charts really, or have a look at any of the regional radio stations web sites, most of their listiners are mostly 11 year olds:)

Almost all of those are music that isn't child-friendly so make sure you play the radio versions :) (rihanna, lady gaga, ke$ha, etc)

Lilly Allen may go down well. I remember her first album being a winner with a bunch of 5-11 yr olds at a party awhile back

    @musicman - good point... I'll have a look at iradio's current playlist ;)

punkindrublic: But while most of those acts may generally be "not child friendly", children are still their biggest audience, sadly... but yes, obviously I'll be playing radio versions.

There'll be plenty of adults about too - the party takes place in a pub (Hey, I don't agree with that really, but it's not my kid and it's a few quid for me, eh?)

old_gregg: Good point re: Lily :)

Awaiting suggestions of minimal techno and deep house artists.

Yoji biomehanika and a bit of showtek would set the party off. Then maybe a bit of dutch gabber.

Download the charts at the minute and it should be grand.

Well why not go for miley Cyrus, justin beiber, high school musical, demi lovato, jonas brothers, etc. FFS ke$ha sings songs about "turn around boy and let me hit that, don't be a little bitch with your chit chat, just show me where your dicks at"

Ok... from various sources, here's the suggested playlist (not in order of when they'll be played) so far:

Pink - Get This Party Started
Girls Aloud - Jump / Love Machine
    Ke$ha - Tik Tok
Cheryl Cole - Fight for this Love / Parachute
Lady Gaga - Pokerface / Just Dance / Bad Romance / Telephone
Beyonce - Crazy in Love / Single Ladies
Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl / If We Ever Meet Again
Black Eyed Peas - Pump It / Boom Boom Pow / I Gotta Feeling / Meet Me Halfway
DJ Casper - Cha Cha Slide
Bob Sinclair - Rock This Party
    S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'
Madness - Baggy Trousers / One Step Beyond
    The Pogues - Fiesta
    Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe
Reel 2 Reel - I Like To Move It
    Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
    Nickelback - Rockstar
Tony Christie - (Is This The Way to) Amarillo
    JLS - Everybody In Love
    Iyaz - Replay
Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believin'
Jedward/Vanilla Ice - Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)
Rihanna - Umbrella / Rude Boy / S.O.S. / Shut Up And Drive / Don't Stop The Music
    Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
Lou Bega/Bob The Builder - Mambo No. 5
    Pokemon Theme
Take That - Shine / Relight My Fire / Could It Be Magic
Black Ice - The Hokey Cokey
Sidney Samson feat. Wizard Sleeve - Riverside (Let's Go!) [Clean version]
    Alexandra Burke - Bad Boys
Jay Z feat. Mr. Hudson - Young Forever
    Bad Manners - Can Can
Kool & The Gang - Celebrate (Good Times)
    Frank Sinatra - Happy Birthday
    Usher - Yeah
    Flo Rida & T-Pain - Low

[edit]@ I'll have Miley Cyrus & High School Musical albums on 'stand by' - i.e.: won't play them unless specifically requested ;)

'British murder boys' always go down a treat with the kids, and for the slow sets 'throbbing gristle' and 'whitehouse'
