Hi I was catching up with a friend(male) last night. He had a fair amount of alcohol taken and told me about how he and 2 of his 'straight' housemates(male) used to fool around(give each other hand-jobs...)I was surprised as all are 'straight'.Is this common?

    They are not straight.

    They are bi-sexual or homosexual.

Yes it is common - for bisexual and homosexual males.

That''s just the catholic-squimish-sex attitude speaking...!
Here on the continent it's perfectly... weird too (unless you''re gay).

How drunk do you have to be to actually admit participating, though?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

What, so just because a couple of guys jerk each other off they're lower class?!?! snob

Its not gay if you're doing it for the following reasons:

    - Trying to get a promotion in work
    - Rehearsing a play
    - Doing it to convince two girls to do some same-sex stuff for your benifit
    - Doing it on medical advice from a (real) doctor
    - Doing it for the Lulz

Any other way and they probably couldnt be described as "Straight"

Still though, if they like it, fair play to em!

    Not gay, just harrassment.

That's pretending to do it. What sort of plays do you go to? Mainly ones in Amsterdam and Thailand I'd wager! ;)

    How hot are these girls?

Yup. It's a regularly prescribed treatment to get rid of straightness.

All bull****: only two acceptable straight scenarios:

    - someone has a gun pointed at your head.

Well, I've known guys who were mostly into women but enjoyed a certain level of gay 'horseplay' with another lad. Obviously handjobs is a good bit beyond drunken wrestling, but it'd be keeping that sort of vibe. As full-on gay guy, I'm going to have to say that the gay sex I have goes a good bit beyond drunken handjobs ;)

But I don't know about claiming completely straight. If they were 13 I'd give em a pass. If they're old enough to have their own flat that's pushing it.

If ya believe in the kinsey scale (ie 0 - completely hetero, 6 - completely homo) they could well be like a 2, but a 0?

If were really to guess, I'd say that prob one was a bit more gay and was more the initiator, and one was a bit less gay but still enjoyed enough to go along with it.

And, if you're mate is drunkenly telling you this, he might have been more the initiator and telling you it to see if he gets any interest back ;)

Well, when you think about it.

You **** your own cock and that's a mans.

So in a way, all men are gay as they masturbate male cock.

Works for ladies too, they are all lez.

i'd say it's more common than you think.

the last time i played "never have i ever" , three straight guys admitted to kissing member of same sex, two of them admitted to handjobs with same sex. all of them identify as straight, two of them have girlfriends. it does happen.

i definitely don't think you can say the guys in the OPs story are gay because of their actions. i've kissed girls, but am not sexually attracted to women. i know some guys who get turned on by watching gay porn, but who love women and would never want to be with a man in real life.
you really can't decide somebody else's sexuality for them, even if they are engaging in gay behaviour. only they know who they are sexually attracted to.

It's common amongst groups of very ugly males and farmers.

It's like cafe colour said, nothings black and white, it's all just shades of grey. Hetro, homo and bi are three levels - basic levels. I'm sure there are sublevels.

Plus, vicecreamsundae mentions 'behaviour'. The sexual behaviour of the human being is so complex that it's near impossible to generalize.

Have to disagree Nulty, I think we can very accurately generalise that the 'majority' of hetrosexual males don't give each other hand-jobs... and as such it ain't 'common'.

Labels are stupid and inaccurate. Humans are not so simple as to be able to be pigeon-holed into neat categories.

Are you saying that its not common among people who don't/haven't do(ne) it? Your basically restating a fact there.

The important part of your idea is how you define the term 'hetrosexual' in this context

i didn't say it was common, i'm sure it's not -only that it happens more than you might think.
and really, only the men who are doing it "would know" -so you having no experience of it does not make you an authority on the subject.

Do forget those would are classed as MSM, men who have sex with other men. These people would not see themselves as gay, but would have varying sexual interaction with other men.

To me its gay or bi-sexual, but offically there are those classed as MSM.
