I just have a few questions in relation to courts and would be thankful for any advice.

In Ireland how long do you have to being a civil case to court?

If a defendant has a court case heard in their absence such as a civil case for cancelation of a finance agreement and that finance company win their case, can the defendant take out a new court case with the same court, if there is such evidence to support any valid claims against the finance company?Or would an appeal have to be lodged and if so how long would they have to lodge such appeal from the outcome of the case?

    Thankyou.

How could a defendant have had a case heard in their absence? Surely they were served with proceedings?

Don't know about civil court but in criminal court a person can be convicted in their absence.
