When I chat in facebook, a bar pops up at the top of the page saying:

"additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page"

and then a button saying install plugins.

When I do this, it says the plugin is not available.

Is there a way that I can get rid of this?

In Firefox go Tools -> Addons - and click on the Plugins tab. Then click updates down the bottom.

Does it give details of the plugin? I had to update it a while back. It gives you a link to a .exe file you need to run first.

Although I did a bit of Googling and found this, http://www.facebook.com/help/?question=360839&_fb_noscript=1.

i've been getting a message saying that "the site requires quicktime from apple" or something. "click okay to get it". i just click cancel and go on chatting. no problem with it so far! i'm positive that i do have the latest quicktime update but facebook/mozilla mustn't recognise it. i just ignore the message.

if you don't get the plugin, does chat stop working for you?
