    Hi Folks,

I'm making dinner this evening (smoked salmon in a creamy sauce with broccoli and whole meal pasta). I was just wondering is smoked salmon from a packet actually healthy? I read that it's very high in salt. Is just normal salmon better?

Also, which would be less calorific - Low fat cream, low fat creme fraiche or maybe even yogurt? Can I cook with yogurt or will it split and do I cook the salmon first?

Maybe I shouldn't be making this dinner as I'm not sure what I'm doing but I got this mad craving for it. Weird cause I don't even like fish usually!

Is this meal healthy/low fat overall?

    Cheers

Fat free fromage frais is your friend. Other than that - use low fat creme fraiche. Yoghurt is, em, yoghurty. So not great in pastas, but good for Indian.
Low fat creme cheese is also a good alternative.

Fat free fromage frais...you mean like petite foulis? I would never have thought of that but will defo pick some up tonight.
I love creamy sauces so having a low fat creamy type sauce will be great.
    Cheers:)

I couldn't find any fat free fromage frais in Tesco Dundrum or Marks and Spencers yesterday.

I eventually got it today in Fallon and Byrne.

Where do you guys normally get it?
