Great shooting from Richard in Laytown...close it out Rich!!
Lucan's Richard O'Donovan leads by a margin of 5 shots going into the final round of the Sigma Wireless sponsored Leinster Youths Championship at Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club. Richard covered the back nine in 34 strokes (-2) having produced birdies at holes 10, 15 and 18 and a bogey on 17.
Snow and rain showers together with strong winds have not assisted play going into the final round and the Par 71 course will continue to play extremely testing for all competitors.

Good stuff indeed, great finish by Kilkennys Craig Martin but two shy in the end. Interesting to see if that carries through to the West.

A 78 in the last round to win by 2. I'd say he was feeling the pressure. Delighted for him because he spent 3 months of the Winter in Spain being coached playing, all out of his own pocket too.

Did he ? @ Spain .. well fair play to him .. he got his just reward .. always think players should be rewarded for what they put into the game .. we won't be too hard on him with 78, closed it out which will stand to him

Great win for him fair play. What handicaps do these guys have to be off to qualify for these events ?

3ish would be the highest initially- a few 4s would have got in via a reserve list.

Richard plays off 0.4 I think. He was part of our Barton Cup team last year which lost to Licksy's club in the final.
