I'm up near Omagh with the missus this Easter weekend. I am in the market for a new pair trainers and was wondering if anybody knows of any stores nearby where they do Gait Testing

Gait analysis is pretty useless IMHO. That is gait analysis as practiced in the majority of places.

What is useful is useful is the combination of a proper gait analysis performed by a competent person who also possess significant knowledge of shoes and running, and can apply the result of the gait analysis correctly and present the customer with a selection of a series of shoes that may suit them.

I've had gait analysis done in pretty much everywhere that offers it in and around Dublin. When buying runners I often get it done to see what they say and then disregard the advice as its usually useless. One promenient dublin store suggested a runner that was incorrect for me and when they then discovered that they didn't have it in my size they recommend a size up from my size as "it would be grand".

In my experience the exception to this is amphian king in bray as Damien has extensive knowledge in the area and i'd recommend them.

+1. The amount of times I've heard it said from people that he recommended them the lower priced shoe, out of the possible varients for their gait, makes me confident he's more interested in a happy customer than a quick buck.
