I am looking to get a car alarm in Halfords but I doubt i'll be able to install it myself !! Does anyone know where I can go to get it fitted? Do kwik fit or fast fit provide this service?

    :)

How much is it costing you from Halfords as a matter of interest?

Where are you and what type of car is it?

Halfords is probably going to be more expensive than an independant car alarm installer, and while Fast Fit / Advance (or even Halfords) might give it a go - I wouldn't have that much faith in them.

best getting the installer to install his own alarm that way he'll be really familiar with it and you don't have to go round the houses if there's an issue with it.

It's a Mazda. I'm based North of Dublin, but if there's some one around city centre etc. it's not a problem to go and get it done there.

Alarm in Halfords is only going to cost something like 40euro! Not looking for something mad expense, just something that makes a noise if someone is breaking into it !!

    try MDS in Palmerstown.

Cheapo alarms not gonna do much. and generally only have 2 wires going into them, just have a shock sensor which mightn't sense a break in. Argos do them too.

you gets what you pay for!

Best thing to do is not leave valuables lying around, use double locking if your car has it.
Get alarm stickers from Halfords and put them on the windows.
If a thief is gonna smash a window when you have a real alarm fitted they'll do it if there are stickers on the windows.
Nobody pays any attention to alarms going off, and a thief knows anyway they have to smash and grab to get anything like an aftermarket stereo etc.
