    Hey,
My friends bike just got nicked from outside the college gym earlier; it's an expensive bike and really I think it was being watched as someone tried nicking it before but couldn't break the lock (it's a heavy duty lock on it too). Do the gym have CCTV does anyone know?
    Ta.

    Bast*rds!

A few bikes have gotten nicked from that location. I'm nearly sure there is CCTV outside of the gym. It would be worth calling into Security on Distillery Road, see if they saw anything.

FFS that's a sickner. If the college are serious about promoting the use of bikes as transport, you'd think they would put a bit more effort into security.

Will you let us know if there is CCTV covering those bike stand's, and more importantly, if it is actually working. If those bast*ards who stole the bike weren't caught on camera, it's a fu*king joke.

Couldn't agree with you more about the college wanting to promote the use of a mode of transport and then do feck all to make it feasible

It was a lapierre actually so if any bike enthusiasts see someone who wouldn't normally have one....

I know there is CCTV outside the front door of the gym and a couple of others around the outside of the gym but I'm not sure about the gym bike stands. I can't even place the gym bike stands in my head. If anyone can explain where the bike stands are I might know if there is a camera covering them. Will be going to the gym tomorrow so can check if I don't know whether the bike stand is covered or not.

There are 2 cameras monitoring the front entrance of the gym and 2 more cameras monitoring the bike stand and surrounding area. However, it did look like there were possibly a few bike stand spaces which are not covered by the cameras.

Your friend should definitely ask if Kingfisher or the security office to review the footage. If they still have the footage retained from that day then there could well be footage of the person who stole the bike.
