It's gone crap anyway, I got stung for 17euro customs or whatever recently and the postman said it seems to be happening a lot when he delivers strawberrynet stuff to customers, gone off them too.

This is ridiculous, put me right off the site!

I have always thought StrawberryNet was expensive. I have never bought anything from them. I have seen so many items on StrawberryNet.com and have always seen the same items on other website's for less.

Fragrancedirect.co.uk cheapsmells.com are much cheaper, and I am sure there are other websites as well which are much cheaper then StrawberryNet.

StrawberryNet will probably lose a lot of Irish sales because of this.

I am Australian and recently moved to Ireland. I have continued to shop at an aussie beauty online store called the beauty club (www.thebeautyclub.com.au). all prices are listed in australian dollars, so you can still gain/loose pending on the exchange rate, but there are no hidden fees or increased rates as the SN conversion is showing.

I use to shop at SN, however, I had a couple of bad experiences and just moved on and was fortunate to find the beauty club. i still buy some prododucts in store, however, generally, i will do most of my beauty shopping at the beauty club. they ship free worldwide, have friednly and helpful customer service and have had 5 orders shipped to Ireland without any hassles. Highly recommend them.

they are also currently giving away a free stila lip balm with all orders. here is more info if anyone is interested:

They've really messed up with this decision - I've only bought from them once or twice, I found cheaper prices on other sites, but this is ridiculous.

On this discussion, always thought Strawberry was a rip-off anyway. But on another topic:

Do you all buy online in Dollars like on the Beaut discussion, or in sterling or Euro? I was always buying in Sterling, would i be better buying in Dollars?

Not that I'm condoning this I hate price increases as much as the next person but Internet companies who sell a certain amount of stock into a foreign country are required by law to charge the VAT rate of that county. Now I don't know what the figure is but it could go a little way to explaining the increase.

Other companies that do this are play.com and amazon.co.uk

simple solution is to vote with your feet.

Creamy Goodness I don't think the issue is that we have to buy in euro - its that the exchange rate set for us does not equate to the price shown in dollars. If it was a proper conversion it would be fine but as usual you get the added Paddy Tax. I have the same issue with several sites and shops. £6 does not equal €9!!

I gave up on strawberry net a few years back after some orders went awol and took forever to arrive and others cost me a fortune in import tax to be able to collect.

I've shopped with Strawberrynet for a few years and 2 months ago for the first time my order was not delivered. I made enquiries and found them very unhelpful. Bascially they told me to chase it up by contacting the delivery company. I refused and stated that I wanted the order re-shipped. I was assured then that it would indeed be re-shipped the next day. However, 3 weeks later I'm still waiting!

I emailed them again today but am annoyed at this stage.
Anybody using sites with similar bargains?

    I use www.feelunique.com

They are based in Jersey and all their listed prices are inclusive of delivery.

EDIT: I should add, that the company claim that if you get stung for import charges they will reimburse you if you provide a copy of the invoice/receipt etc.

This has never happened to date with me and I've got all my friends and family using the site now.

+1 for feelunique, I use them all the time for toiletries and makeup. Not a huge difference on some brands eg Bare Minerals, but Kerastase and Redken are way cheaper than here, and delivery is free. If you go through this link you get 2.5% off your order:
    http://beaut.ie/blog/2010/beaut-ie-exclusive-7-5-discount-at-feelunique/

It says 7.5% at the top of the link but that offer's over. The 2.5% still applies though.
