URGENT advice regarding Tiling job

Hi there I need some advice and am hoping you can help. I have a tiler in the process of tiling the kitchen through the entrance way to the front door. He took the board panel up that was on the floor between the dining room and the front door but is tiling over the Lino squares that are glued ontop of the concrete (not sure if this is right but he is supposedly the expert.) Only problem is that there is a gap between the lino tiles on either side of the door and he has laid the tile ontop causing it to crack down the centre ( no support underneath. due to gap) Is he obliged to fix that problem?? What are the options can he just slap a load of adhesive to fill up the gap? or is there something else he should do? Anyway he is coming back today to grout and finish off some tiling under the cooker and by the front door. Any advice would be helpful.

Of course he's at fault, he should have known that it was likely to crack. Do NOT pay for the job until it is to your satisfaction. This always works.

Yes its wrong... Its very wrong. The tiles will ALWAYS crack if laid on lino.

The lino needs to come up and if there is a depression or dip it can be built up with flexi adhesive...

Have you any idea what type of tile your laying and what type of adhesive the tiler is using.
