new bike service

    Just wondering is there a reccomended time/distance to get a new bike serviced i bought online so no lbs advice available to me. Do they need a once over after 1000k or so?

    After 1,000km or a month would sound reasonable. If nothing is obviously falling off the main thing that needs to be done is just to adjust gears and brakes for cable stretch using the barrel adjusters. This is something you can do yourself; probably worth learning how, it is pretty easy when you have done it a few times.

    hi i reckon you should return the bike after fifteen hours of cycling or your first hundred miles for a quick check . its better for the bike in the long run, especially if you are new to biking.
