In a bit of a dilema and was told of an insurance company that doesn't ask about convictions in the past x years, etc., penalty points and all that.

What is the name of the company or any other company with such a policy?

I was told the name of it before but i'm never good with names :D

Is there not a way for them to find out even if they dont ask on the phone/application form?

they'll probably refuse to pay out a claim if you don't tell them
there's always a "relevant information" clause

The onus is on you to disclose any relevant information.
