    Hi,
Can anyone offer any advice on having make-up applied here?
I cannot decide between Mac or Benefit (Fiona I think).
I had my makeup done in Benefit and it was really gorgeous.
However everyone seems to rave about Mac.
Are they any better? And who would be the best to go to?
I don't like my foundation caked on, I love blusher & dramatic eye makeup.
Have had a few nightmares with having makeup done before & I really want to have it done well.. Any advice would be really appreciated..

I think if you were happy with the service you got from Benefit then you should go there again.

    Mac is very over-hyped.

Mac is over hyped; they all have their perfectly pale make-up done to a tee yet send you away like you've been tangoed time and time again from what I have heard... except one girl did make up at my cousin's wedding and it was lovely, her name was Aisling and I think she still works there.

I'v had my make up done in MAC quite a lot there.... They do a pretty good job. Sharon is amazing. The only thing that puts me off is they can be quite pushy when it comes to selling you stuff. But if you can handle them, then maybe give them a try, even just for a change. I havn't been disappointed yet!

The thing about MAC in BT Dublin is the girls are always tangooed and far far too much makeup on. I look at them and think if that's what the SA's are like using the products then I don't want to go near them. In fairness, it must be the worst possible way to advertise your products.

OP, if you were happy with Benefit then I'd go back to them.

I love MAC products but at the end of the day most of their "makeup artists" are just people with good retail background who did a training course for a few days on makeup , if you were happy with Benefit then I think you should go back. MAC artists are very hit & miss

got make up done in MAC Galway for a wedding, it was really subtle, really nice. I'd def go back. I think you just need to be very clear with them about what you want. Also had make up done in Benefit in Galway and found Mac better, but that was years ago, they have probably changed! Bobbi Brown in Galway are also very good

I've booked an appointment with them too so I'd be really interested in hearing more opinions.

It's for a night out where there'll be loads of photos so I definitely want great makeup. I want the smokey eye look and nude lips. Can anyone recommend who would be best for this? Might change to Benefit if people think they'd be better.
