    Hi folks,

I had my induction day and my first training day is starting VERY soon.. I know this is kinda last minute but I'm in RED, B group. Can any of the lads or lassies let me know what we are supposed to be bringing up on the first day as I we're not starting on the usual Sunday slot.. Could you guys just let me know what you lot are bringing?

I drive a motorbike so its not too handy for me to bring up all my stuff on the one day.

Also other than the definitions, is there anything else we need to have done?

    Cheers! :D

That thread contains a pretty good list of what to bring, I picked up the majority of it as well as a few other bits and bobs that might come in handy (folders, pockets and the like).

As far as what needs done, we need to have learned The article 3 caution, and the Search provisions, as well as (I assume) completing the workbook thing that was on that CD, AND read through the handbook (which is enormous).

Other than that I don't think there is anything else, least I hope there isn't.

Guys dont worry too much about learning stuff for your first day, you pick things up pretty quickly and you only need to know all defs off pat for your defs exam just get a good understanding and relax its all fun and games

i dont usually post on here anymore but noticed this so i thought id chuck in some advice. im an old red and if your SPOC is the same as ours, which im pretty certain it will be, learn the art 3 caution and search provision (im assuming GOWISELY?) word for word. you will be tested on it. the workbook most likely wont even get taken out of your bag. but if youve been told to learn the definitions for intake day, learn it, dont get off on the wrong foot :)

Also, if your SPOC is the same, youve really landed on your feet as he is by far and away the best spoc in there. Hard taskmaster for the first while and will expect 110% from you but will get the best out of you

I too have not been on here for a very long time.... life up at GV leaves u with little free time! The new intake last week got it way easier than our intake did eh BC, flippin 6 day week that was! Seriously though, I second BC's comment re the spoc, he is the best there is up there. Just keep the head down, give it all you possibly can (girls esp with that push-pull, give it your all!) and the time will fly by.... you will also meet some of the best people in the world on your course, most likely they will be complete headers, but hey, a bit of craic and your sense of humour will get you far! Good luck!;)
