Not necessarily a bargain alert at all, but I am curious as to what exactly the craic is with bethrifty.ie, pigsback and fatcheese. What exactly does this cashback entail? I'm about to book a hotel and bethrifty have 6% cashback with lastminute.com [which on a totally unrelated matter are on a major slide imo, they've gotten really ****] so does this mean I get €6 back for every €100 spent? Anyone care to explain? :o

I've searched on the websites for an explanation but they aren't very good. Probably cos I'm not very smart!

Basically, thats it. You'll get back 6% of whatever your hotel costs (sometimes it's 6% of the cost less taxes). So if it costs you €100 you'll get €6 cashback.

It's a free service, may as well use it, I've done relly well out of them, had to wait one payment but nothing major. Make sure you're logged in though, or else they won't know it's you who booked the hol!

This a bit stupid but I'm presuming you get the €6 back [for example] into your bethrifty account and you're free to whip it out back into your bank a/c then?

Yep, but it won't go in as soon as you book! Doesn't take too long though.
You can let it sit in your be thrifty a/c, if you want to withdraw just enter your bank or paypal a/c details and it should go automatically.

I have used bethrifty for two things, they took about 3 months to give me cashback from vodafone, after many emails. cash is good though!

I have been with Pigsback for a long time but they are good to the dogs with some of their rewards and the cost of them. Pigsback give rewards in vouchers etc, no cash.

Never really purchase much through pigsback, just do the 10 point clicks and the like every monday. The points mount up quite quickly & eventually I cash them in for cinema tickets or vouchers for restaurants etc. Delighted to see that Dundrum Cinema Tickets are available now, ordered 2 the other day. They're 1050 points, so grand considering I dont have to spend a penny.

I started using Bethrifty about 4 months ago & have about €10 built up with them. Haven't bothered using it cos it's so little, but again hope to build it up & use it for presents or something.

Also, Pigsback and Bethrifty are good for big purchases so if you are getting a laptop from dell, a holiday etc... no harm checking the two sites to see the benefits. my brother got 15000 points off pigsback after taking out an AIB mortgage, which he was going to do anyway. He wouldn't have got anything so 15000 was handy for credit etc...

I find it great. I use tesco.ie via bethrifty most weeks and use them for other purchases too. I got over €100 back last year. Definitely makes a difference.:)

    Hi gilbert

As a valued member of BeThrifty.ie, we have decided to add this Cashback to your account, and will chase up Vodafone to recover the commission.

    Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Many Thanks

    Glenn
