Loose teeth after getting a punch

    Hi.

Last night I got a punch in the face by a coke head.

Anyways, one or two of my teeth are a weeny teeny tiny bit loose and hurt when I bite something.

Do you know if this will heal or what could I do to treat it*? My teeth were never in 100% nick anyways. They're not on the brink of falling out or anything. Just it hurts and it's making it difficult to eat solid food.

Any advice or help would be stellar.

    Thanks.

*It'd be great if there was like a special magic toothpaste that heals teeth.

it's just a bit of concussion. if the teeth aren't displaced, then after a few days they should be fine. the ligament that holds the teeth in is just bruised.
    that's the likely story.

still though, there's still a chance that they could have broken the roots somewhere so it'd be good to get them checked with an xray.
soft diet for a few days anyway.

    did you steal his methadone??!

Thanks buddy... Hopefully you're right about the bruising... I'll go easy on the diet for the next couple of days... :)

I explained in another forum http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=65124769&postcount=17212

You should defiantly get them checked out by a dentist asap. Without x-rays and clinical examination nobody can give you any proper answers.

I'll wait a few days then if it's not getting better, I'll do just that.

    Thanks guys.

it was my own in-joke. a former patient of mine turned up with some broken teeth and a black eye from a 'disagreement' over methadone. oh how i laughed!
and yes, some coke heads do dabble in other substances!
