Eye makeup remover - recommend one!

I've been using Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover (the oil one, not the milk) and lately I've been finding it hasn't been doing a great job removing eyeliner and waterproof mascara.

I'd like to hear some feedback on other products, I settled on Clinique a few years ago after trying LOADS of other products (which either didn't work or made my eyes sting).

    Thanks :)

I use the loreal expert makeup remover. Its in a black tube with a kinda golden liquid inside

Goes on like a gel, you add a small bit of water and rub, great for heavy make up as it just disolves

some people dont like it cos its a bit oily buy i find it great

Thanks Frogstar, I've googled it and some reviews say that it's "Ok, not great" for waterproof eye makeup - so I might pass on it. Thanks for your reply though!

I had the same problem, and spent ages trying to find an eye makeup remover that'd take off my (many) layers of waterproof mascara.

Bought Simple, intending to just use it until I found a good one, but it's absolutely brilliant. It's the only one I use since then. Takes all my eye makeup off, and is really gentle too.

I have the Avon Eye Make Up remover (See No. 7 here) http://www.avon.ie/PRSuite/static/ebrochure/democampaignC0710/e-brochure.html and I have this Estee Lauder http://www.esteelauder.com/product/mpp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT685 and the cheaper option of the Avon wins hands down.

Niveas gentle eye make up remover is good and the Bourjois one is meant to be great but haven't tried it yet!

I use Lancome's Bi-Facil it's great for even heavy/waterproof makeup. It's not good if you're correcting mistakes and applying more makeup because it's a bit oily. I have a Boots No. 7 eye make up remover that I use on a cotton bud for mistakes.

Yeah i googled those reviews too. I think most don't like the texture but it is great for waterproof, that's all i wear and its the only remover not to give me Panda eyes the next day. Its worth a shot, its only 3euro in heatons but in boots or anywhere else its around 7euro

    Vaseline is great!
Rub it onto your eyes and eyelashes- the oil in it breaks down even waterproof mascara :)

Have you tried Lancome Bi-Facil OP? It's a bit pricey, but it totally works. Waterproof eye makeup comes off so easily. A little goes a long way with this stuff so it works out as cheap as the others in the long run.

I love the Lancome Bi-Facil, but find Boots No.7 makeup remover is a decent cheaper version of it- removes waterproof mascara no bother- you probably would use less of the Bi-Facil as *giggles* mentioned above though.

I use the La Roche Posay (sp?) eye make up remover - it comes in little individual bottles so you can use one and not have to worry about them going off, as far as I remember there are about 30 in the box and its about €15 or so.

I have really sensitive eyes and car rarely use anything these are great, just use a little on a cotton pad and hey presto your eyes are all clean:D

if you're looking for something super cheap and natural, i always use olive oil, dip one of those cotton ear bud things in it and wipe away. keeps your skin in really good condition and gets rid of really heavy eye make up too.

Thanks for all of your replies. I won't be putting Vaseline or olive oil on my eyes but thanks for the suggestion.

I have tried Simple in the past, I found it a bit gunky and it got in my eyes, so I didn't re-purchase; also Lancome’s Bi Facil stung me and made my eyes water, so I'd avoid that or any cheaper versions of it.

That La Roche stuff in 15 little bottles sounds like it might be a go-er, I'll look out for it in the chemist. Cheers!

    +3 for Lancome Bi-Facil !

It is just amazing stuff. I've tried tons of eye make up removers and Bi-Facil is leagues ahead of them.

It is so gentle, never stings my eyes, takes off the waterproof mascara and every scrap of eyeliner in seconds. It is totally worth the money  I will never use anything else!
