Surely you have time to learn how to make polls then?

I'm working although not right now..

I am working full time, but between falling margains and not always getting paid from clients, i might be better off not working at all. Ahh, to have a job that pays every month / week without the worry must be blissful.

I got made redundant two years ago (factory worker), and it gave me the kick up the hole I needed to return to education.

I'm now a student, doing business studies. I only have to be there Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 1.30pm, so my life is a lot more relaxed now than it was when I was working 40-50 hours a week, and I love what I'm studying.

Getting made redundant was probably the best thing that ever happened to me, but if I had had loans or a mortgage to pay off, I would have been fawked:cool:

I have a job but I'm only contracted for another month. It's very unlikely to be renewed after that. Oh well.

How about a option for "student"?

I wouldn't want them accidentally clicking the wrong radio-button.

I am working and grateful of it. Just recently received a nice pay rise too.
But I if I do lose my job , things will unravel very quickly. I ain't going to worry about it , theres no point. Life will go on.

Currently fully employed (H.S.E) and studying part time.

And am very grateful, because no-one here knows anyone who hasn't been affected

i'm on lunch right now but started a new job a couple of weeks back after being made redundant almost a year ago. Yeah i'm in work on a sunday (1 weekend off in every 3) and the say sucks but with a wife and 2 young kids i know i'm lucky. I also love the job even though its dreadful pay and hours suck balls.

    Not working :(

    So spend must of my day either;
    1 Looking for work.
2 Reading books trying to self study and develop new skills.
3 Or trying to get on any course running that would improve employment prospects.

Ah well, it cant stay like this forever ......can it ??

Working at the moment hope to start a full time college course in September.Worst thing ever seeing people getting let go especially those with a young family. All because of a technicality the company can save money that they don't have to pay redundancy pay to them cause they haven't worked the minimum of 2 years.I seen the best workers get let go and the worst been kept on over the redundancy that they are entitled to if they got let go.

In college found it impossible to get a part time job this year, living on savings, with this carry on http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=65110764&postcount=135 i dont see any chance of gettin a part time job for my last in in college or of a full time job on graduation

I'm unemployed at the moment, but am trying to start my own business...

I was working until last month, I quit because my boss was making my life such hell that I was sick endlessly since last July because of it, I was doing part time hours, was barely making any money, but they had always assured me if they ever had more hours for me they would let me know. When I was leaving and they were hiring a replacement they gave her 40 hours a week, pretty much proved what d*cks they were.

So yes I'm unemployed, but voluntarily for now, but hoping to get my business off the ground.

    I have a job.
    Thank feck.
There's just nothing out there if you're looking to move on in your career at the moment. Very depressing. But hey, the bills are paid.

not working. Am aiming to move over to the UK for further study in September hopefully. I need a change of direction as my area of specialisation will not provide gainful employment here again for a long time. I have used the time since to explore all my options and found something which would be my dream to do and i am eligible to do it. Had an interview for a course in UL to study it but didnt make the final placement unfortunately (but still did great to get to interview stages considering 800+ applicants). So it'll be to the UK for me now...
Unemployment has been sh*t but it has provided an opportunity for me to evaluate my life/career and aim for something better which is a wonderful positive.
Its good to hear someone is starting their own business, cudos!!
and another person getting by playing online poker..cool i'd love to be able to do that..

    Lost my job in January.

95% sure I'll have a job by July from the looks of things.

No savings, so may grab a bar job til then, though I can be overly honest, so I might have trouble not telling them in the interview that I'd be leaving by the end of June.

Thats b***ocks or maybe its true but I know a hell of a lot more people who are unemployed, who are neither builders or graduates. The young graduates I dont feel so sorry for. They'll get sorted with time but I have met a fair number of 30-40 somethings who have been let go from work and what is being done to help them by the government...sweet FA.
I thankfully have a job but I meet so many people through it who have no employment.:(

Just someone who is good at their job and will move jobs if their boss doesnt appreciate them.
I can get paid elsewhere, so he must match other offers or let me go. Im happy either way. He owes me nothing and i owe him nothing.

Isnt it amazing the amount of people that tremble as soon as their boss mentions cuts instead of looking around to see what your options are and turning the tables.

Fair play to ya, its my dream to start my own particular buissness but thats 4-5 years away at least:(.

Lost my job in January. Granted, wasn't much of a job to begin with- just 4 hours every Sunday- but it was an extra €36 a week that I desperately needed. Trying my damndest to find work but there's feck all going in this damn town. It's bad enough tryna find part-time work but tryna find part-time work that won't affect my Disability Allow. in a small town where they all require 5 billion years of experience just to get your foot in the door..

...My soul dies a little more everytime I get yet another letter of rejection in the mail. :(
I WANT to work, even if it's just something basic for a few hours once or twice a week. Just to get me out of the house and out of this depressing funk of being broke and saddled with (small by most people's standards) debts I'm having trouble paying. :(

At the moment, I'm debating on wheter or not to try and see about distributing catalogues to tide me over but as far as I know, I'll need a car or a bike-two things I don't own.

    Urgh. Just.. just. URGH

If you didn't have a failed business before then you would be in the minority ;) Fair play to ya anyway. I have some great ideas but I lack the capital to invest into any of them. Something that I hope will happen over the next 10 years.
