Hiya, had a look through the search and the last I could find was from 2009, so hope this'll be okay to ask now?
Getting married in about two months in a Limerick hotel (won't name and shame it) so far, really awesome service and have brought down the price on some things but this Bar extension is getting on my nerves.
They first asked for euro 450 and then dropped it to euro 300 when I hummed and hawed about it but to be honest, I can't wrap my head around paying the hotel 300 euro to make money off my guests for only an hour and a half!

Would I be right to tell them to cop on and not pay it? Has anyone experience of doing that and it going wrong? I can't imagine that they'd risk losing out on the money.

I have heard from folks in the trade that while some may pay it annually for the previliage of serving later, its unlikely to cost them that per extention/wedding plus i heard a lot dont pay it. Its fairly common for hotels to tell you that they are waiving this cost when you ask them to (as in they are doing you a HUGE favour)- My own opinion is to say NO to paying it and that they will have to throw it in for free!
