Two questions "locked to O2" and GPS apps

    Hi,

    Planning on buying iPhone but have two concerns:

    1) If I get a second hand iPhone thats "locked to O2" can I just put my O2 sim in it and it will work? Is there a registration proceedure to activate?

    2) I like my Nokia 5800 Free Ovi Maps (no data connection required). Can I get this on iPhone?

    can't help you with the first question as i don't know how iphone's are locked to a carrier is it by IMEI => mobile number or is it just locked to sims from o2? i'm not sure.

    on your second question, no googlemaps will not work like nokia's ovi maps as the maps part of google maps is loaded from a data connection where as nokia ovi maps are preloaded onto the phone.

    there is options available to you to store a cache of google maps data if you jailbreak the phone.
