So the OH is coming over tonight and rather going out and get pissed we will get pissed inside instead! Can someone recommend a really frightening film, she bored the crap out of me last time with "The Devil wears Prada" so something truly frightening would be good!

After watching The Descent my gf made me go with her to the toilet. Definitely a good one.

Not quite a full production or film per se, but 2 Girls 1 Cup is good.

"The exorcism of emily rose". Be prepared to have to carry a flashlight with you in the dark for months. Youtube it to get a flavour. Those pics that come up are the real girl.

Out of the whole thread this is the only one that will scare the bejasus out of your girlfriend. My girlfriend was staying over at mine and asked what would be a good film to watch. I told her the decent, she had to turn it off half way and wait for me to come home she was so scared and this was during the day. :D

Skeleton key is another shout. More psychological than cheap frights but a good show.

The bit where the peoples eyes started turning black, that will stay with me for life. To think that that poor girl really experienced all that, terrifying.

she didn't experience that, demonic possession does not happen, because demons do not exist.

for a good slasher film that would terrify a girl, watch inside (also called " a l'interieur"), it's a french film similar to halloween, but orders of magnitude more insane.

a good psychological one would be "a tale of two sisters", it's an awesome film.

Great suggestions, but rather than repeating the usual classics:

The Exorcist III (Could have been a great movie, but was butchered in post production against the directors wishes. Still, the performances are great all round, and there is a constant tension and creepiness throughout, aswell as some genuinly unexpected heart stopping jumpy bits. Make sure it's III though, the second movie is ass hat.)

IT (Psychotic clown monster........do I have to say anything else?)

Trick r Treat (Never got a cinema release for some reason. Basically a horror/comedy in the vein of Nightmare on Elm Street and co. The acting is top notch, the funny bits will have you loling and the jumpy bits will make you scream like a little girl.)

The Grudge! Never been so terrified of a movie! Didn't sleep for months, had to get my boyfriend to stay on the phone to me for around 3 weeks untill I fell asleep so I wasn't alone!

Either that or Creep is good as well, and I watched a Haunting in conneticut last night, was good, saw it before though so spent more of the film scaring my sister!
