looking for a flat screen (getting rid of old 17" CRT). 19" min and supporting resolution up to 1900 * 1080.

If I could get two would be good.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

I will be upgrading pc next year so not sure if DVI or HDMI as an additional input.

    What would anyone suggest?

    How about this
Most monitors now will have both DVI and HDMI so you're covered that way.
    EDIT
Wait, just re-read your post, have you only got VGA output at the moment?

For 1920 x 1080 you will be looking at at 22" upwards.
DVI is a dead cert on all new monitors so dont worry about that.
HDMI while nice is only gonna be of use for connecting the likes of a Blue Ray player as the only difference between it and DVI is that HDMI also carries sound.

Google "Komplett" They have Samsung Monitors with 1920*1080 Res. reasonablly priced and you can order online and collect and pay in Blanchardstown (credit or laser card only)

I got a Samsung 23" HDTV full hd and it's the business but you can get a monitor only set.

    Try something like this.
DVI and VGA input. 1920 x 1080 and can output 1080p (HD). Decent price at €153
