I am about the same height as you,and the same inseam.I am no expert but the large has a top tube length of 57cm.Its a bit too long for someone of your height I think.

The medium or the small would be the right size.I had a giant scr2 in size large it was too big.Where did you get the giant,I would be interested to know?

Thanks for your reply, I got my current bike from a bike shop on Camden street in Dublin. It was on sale so I didn't get properly fitted at all but it has served me well the last few months.

I have a focus cayo that has the same geomentry as the small boardmen, give or take a few mm.I could have got the larger bike as I was in between sizes.I think the slightly bigger size would have been better.

So that is a boardman size medium is the same as the cayo size large give or take. You really need to take it for a spin, halford staff are quite useless so me very careful. Very best of luck

Thanks a million horizon26, I think they're open on Sunday so I might go over to them, hopefully they have a medium in stock for a try out.

Hi, i have a team carbon in size L. I'm 6ft 1 so I would say maybe the medium would be better suited for you.
Don't think Halfords let you take the Boardmans out for a spin by the way so you may have to get them to set both sizes up on a turbo for you.
If I were you i would shop around as you may get a discounted 2009 model in one of the stores that they are trying to shift. Plus you may get very lucky and find a 2008-2009 carbon pro for the same money.
Good luck with the purchase :)

i bought the medium last week & have pretty similar dimensions to yourself give or take 1cm!

have yet to ride it but having taken a tape to my scr2 (which i was fitted for) for comparsion & the sizing is pretty similar!

fwiw I was in Halfords the other day measuring up a team carbon for my friend he is 6'3 so he needs an extra large.
I also measured for myself 5 10 and similar inside leg to yourself. I can get fit on M or L.(Measuring from well established position on current bikes) The toptubes are only 15mm different and the smaller frame has a steeper seat tube which negates some of this. With a change (maybe) of stem you could also find fit on either.(IMO)
Large does have a longer headtube which will allow you to get a more upright position if you want to.
Its worth remembering that these bikes have carbon steerers afaik and you are limited in how long you can leave the steerer tube unsupported. If you want upright position you need longer headtube.

    Bottom line.Racier position=M
    Upright position=L
