Anyone know anything about the dog knocked down in Doughuisce today?

I know it's a wild question, but I passed a sad scene earlier in Doughuisce, just up from the Centra; beautiful big Alsatian got hit, and his owners were out on the road; I pulled in and they said the vet was on it's way..any chance anyone hears anything about what happened? The whole road was blocked up around 13:30 ..…

Might sound silly, but a real soft part of me wants to know. He looked like such a pet.
