RIght. I have new paint, and I have already tried with my Detachable hand guards, and one went perfect, the other went absolutely shockingly horendeous.

WHat I did was, wash the guards in soapy water, then dried them, then I wiped them down with white spirits, then I dried them, and then I painted them.

Is there anything I should have done, or did incorrectly?

    Any help is appreciated.

BTW, then paint is EC tan paint by NFM, if that matters for anything

you should of "keyed" up the surfaces a bit first! just lightly sand the surfaces, and clean the dust off then paint!

and if its bare plastic you'll need a compatible primer too, or else the paint will get no purchase on the material. :)

was it bare plastic before ya painted it? if so your better off removing the paint, using a plastic primer and allowing it to dry fully, give it a thin layer of paint for the first one and when thats dry you can give it a slightly thicker finishing layer. a good sand before ya paint makes all the difference. :)

Yeah that's what i was asking, weather it was bare plastic or painted before hand.

I see. So do I need the primer?

No, not if there was paint on them from the factory, just use some light sandpapers, P600 or P800 used wet to give the new paint a grip on the old. then a light coating, couple of layers etc etc. :)

The title of this thread is very misleading. Having read through it now it would appear that it has nothing to do with painting n00bs.

I'm very dissappointed as I am an authority on n00b painting and was only too prepared to share my in-depth knowledge on the subject.....

I was going to do something along those lines, but I was afraid the mods would classify it as paintball, not airsofting.

My method is to tie a noob to a spinning circular platform, and have balloons filled with paint tied around the platform, and around the noob.

Then I take 20 paces and get someone to spin the wheel. I then open up a whole mag from my M4 at the wheel, and see the pretty colours fly.

Of course, this can be a 2, 3 or even 6 player game, where each player gets their own mag, and new paint. A new n00b is optional.

And tyats how I spend my weekends. But maybe that just me
