I have a 16gb iphone 3gs running 3.1.2 and I have erased and deleted all data from my iphone, after trying to switch it back on it went into a dfu mode and the iphone doesnt want to restore. It keeps giving me an error 1611 when trying to restore.

It gets to the proses with the restoring to the progress bar and it just switches off with the error on pc screen.

I tried uninstalling itunes, quicktime, apple device services and resinstalling, but still with no luck. I have also gone in msconfig and bonjour and apple services are enabled, so I have not a clue what it wrong.

If anyone knows on how to fix this problem, please let me know.

I am running win7 64 bit if that helps.

    Cheers

    Try this
1- Change the USB port the phone is plugged in to. Do not plug the phone back in yet.

2- Reboot the computer then plug the phone in ( in diffrent USB) and immediately restart the phone in DFU WHILE CONNECTED to the computer.

    3- Hit restore.
