Automated spot removal

    Hi,

I have a couple of dust spots that only show up at F22. Bit of a pain removing them when I have a series of 50 shots all with the same spots visible.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to automate the spot removal on multiple images in either CS4 or Lightroom?

If anyone has done this before I'd appreciate your input & advice.

    Thanks,

You can use the incamera dust removal option from the menu. In the 40D its called the Dust Delete Data system. Take a photo of a white plain surface from about a foot away @ f22. Then run it through the Dust Delete Data system in the camera and you should be fine. The camera notes where the dust spots are and makes adjustments to the images. So you don't need to do it in the computer after you upload them.

Is this available on the 500d or just the more expensive models? I've noticed a speck or two in some of my photos.

Where is the menu is it found?

It's on the bottom of the second menu page on the 40D. Don't know where it is on the 500D. Look for a menu option called Dust Delete Data.

Btw... Forgot to mention you need DPP to finish off the process. My bad. :o
