Simple fitness plan for weight loss

    Hello everyone.
I am trying to lose weight as I have been stuffing myself with junk the past few months and have gained 20lb.
I am female, 5'9" and 160lb so trying to get down to 140 ish.
I am eating about 1500-1800 calories per day which includes chicken, fruit and lots of veg.
I dance for about 20 minutes a day and I sweat buckets but it just doesn't seem to cut it, I certainly don't "feel the burn"!!!
I want to know what simple exercises can I do at home to lose fat?
I tend to put on weight all over rather than in one specific area so I have an extra couple of inches on my waist, hips and thighs that I want to get rid of.
I am really stiff (I can't even touch my toes) and I have very little upper body strength (I can't do push ups).
I was thinking of trying to do sit-ups but how will these make me look? I don't want a six-pack or anything, my stomach is naturally pretty flat.
Last thing, I naturally have quite chunky calves and have had medical problems (chronic pain, which the doctor could not find a cause for) in them before, and they bunch up and hurt really easily if I move them the wrong way, so anything that will reduce them or at least not put too much pressure on them would be great.
I just want to stress that this is for fat loss- I don't want to look muscley at all.

    Thanks!

Dont worry about putting on tonnes of muscle, unless you work insanely hard at it, you wont.

Stretches will improve your flexibility, or look at yoga. Crunches wont give you a six pack, like my comment above, youd want to do a lot of hard work to get one. Im trying years. :)

Simple exercises are just that, simple, like walking a good distance at a brisk pace. Cycle, play a sport. Anything that gets you moving more than you are right now. Dance is great, but 20 mins a day isnt cutting it because its not long enough.

Weights are your friend though, even simple body weight exercises. Start with kneeling pushups if you cant do full ones (most women cant to begin with).
