    Jobseekers Benefit is taxable.

While of course if would be highly improper I assume in practice taxation is avoided by most by simply not compleitng a tax return.

But if you must submit a tax return for other reasons lets says Form 12, how do the Revenue Commissioner known whether to tax your JB income or not?

Revenue Leaflet IT24 - Taxation of Jobseekers Benefit says

"If you are participating in a short-time working arrangement Jobseekers Benefit payable is not taxable."

How would the Revenue know if you were in a short-term working arangement or not? on the Form 12 all they ask for the the amount of JB you got in a year.
