I'm actually just after closing an account with them. Can I signup again, spend the money and just abandon the account?

A copy or a scan? I can only assume it's the latter!

A copy, but it looks like a driver's license will do instead.

2% interest with Rabo or 3.5% elsewhere :)

Don't Rabo allow you to receive the interest in monthly installments? I've been looking at some other savings aco***** and they only payout the interest on a set date, once a year.

Some of the other products have rates up to 4%, but have a minimum savings amount. Not sure which is best overall, it can be very difficult to compare products as they are seldom straight forward savings accounts.

Not much of a snag really, it's for money laundering reasons.

Doesnt every new bank acc require a copy of your passport??

I applied for my Rabo a good month ago but between wrong documents and a mix-up on their behalf it only got done this week. But my code was only for €20 :(

I brought mine into the local garda station and they stamped it.

i was saving here when they had like 5% interest rate, then they dropped it down to what ever it is now.
rabo is alot more convientent than BOI saving as you can transfer as much as you like to rabo when ever you like, and you can setup direct debits through their site.

To receive the €30 account opening deposit and to be entered into the competition to win one of 5 €1,000 deposits, applicants must have their accounts open in full before the 31st of July 2010.
The €30 will be deposited into your RaboDirect Savings Account within 15 days of account opening.

The Start Application button contained in the eFlash and on the promotional page on the website will take new customers to this pre populated application form.
The winners of the 5 €1,000 deposits will be announced before the end of August 2010.
